We’re also previewing the content in this series of Moments, which feature highlights from each session.
In this Cloud Wars Expo Moment, excerpted from the Public Sector Industry Cloud Battleground sessions, Nicholas Smith, Program Lead of Federal Digital Services, Oracle, explains Oracle’s defense in depth (DiD) approach to security.
Highlights
00:16 — Smith points out that the public sector is traditionally known to be risk averse and that the sector is slow to adopt new technology. For these reasons, security is paramount.
00:34 — No one ever wants to deal with a breach or a loss of personal identification information. This led Oracle to take the approach that security is not an afterthought, but is rather baked in throughout all of its cloud stacks.
01:06 — Oracle has a defense in depth approach to handling security. This approach includes many layers of security such as encrypting data at rest, encrypting data in transit, architecting and building of AI/ML, and autonomously securing the data.
