D365 F&O doesn’t allow direct table access. Until now, the best option to load a data warehouse was to manage exports to an Azure SQL DB (“BYOD”). Microsoft now supports an unmanaged integration to an Azure data lake, but what does this mean to companies with an investment in BYOD? How might you take advantage of data lake…and should you?

Learning Objectives:

1)     Establish an understanding of export to Azure SQL DB compared to data lake

2)     Investigate data architectures enabled through Azure Data Lake including Azure Synapse and Power BI

3)     Examine the techniques and effort to retrofit a data lake source into an existing data warehouse

Note: a demo for learning objective #3 is planned
