In this Cloud Wars Expo Moment, Mike Sicilia, Executive VP of Vertical Industries at Oracle, describes the importance of having intelligent solutions in the healthcare industry that strengthen the experiences for patients and providers.
Highlights
00:16 — Trying to get personal healthcare records from one doctor to another, even in a non-emergency time, is cumbersome and clunky.
00:38 — Sicilia shares a time that he saw a provider for a routine test who failed to remember why he had scheduled the visit. He continues explaining that oftentimes, healthcare portals fail to give providers the required information they need to offer proper healthcare.
01:37 — Interestingly enough, healthcare providers are aware of a patient’s financial data, despite being aware of the patient’s medical history or reason for in-office visits in the first place.
02:04 — Medical records are “very verbose” and patients must be careful not to overload the provider with so much information that they cannot decipher it. The industry must have smart, intelligent solutions that enable vendors in the healthcare space to “work together for the good of patients and the good of providers.” There cannot be any technical barriers in this process.
