Highlights
00:32 — Kieron describes an “exciting, interesting, and inspirational” story from Couchbase. A team of three set sail from Grand Canary Island to St. Lucia, arriving after 23 days at sea. Couchbase Capella was used to track the voyage, supporting location and safety services.
01:14 — Additionally, Couchbase Capella was used to collect data on elements such as temperature, pressure, speed, humidity, engine telemetry, and fuel consumption. The technology was also being used to get data points on wine that was being fermented on board.
01:30 — Couchbase Capella was also used in conjunction with the MOLO17 safety and rescue app which ensured that the sailors were fully protected on their voyage. Kieron defines this as an “extreme example” of using Couchbase Capella because it’s in the middle of the ocean, but also shows this technology supports users in “literally any circumstance.”
02:04 — This Couchbase solution is able to do this because it has built-in syncing capabilities, enabling a seamless experience regardless of whether there’s connectivity or not.
02:35 — Kieron applauds Couchbase for this technology and for enabling it to be accessible anywhere and at any point in time.
