Reporting on location at the ServiceNow Knowledge24 event, Tom Smith chats with Bob Evans and John Siefert about his top takeaways from the second day of the conference. In this roundtable, they discuss customer testimonials, major CEOs in attendance, and innovative partnerships.
Highlights
Day 2 Overview (00:49)
The second day of the ServiceNow conference saw big names in the tech space. Although by video, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella was part of a keynote. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang attended in person. Also present was actress Viola Davis, who participated in the women in tech track, talking about her personal story — and actor and director Dan Levy is set to participate in Day 3.
When a company can get this level of CEOs present at their conferences, Tom notes, that’s a strong indication of where they are in the industry today.
In the Day 1 wrap-up, Tom talked about the expanded partnership between ServiceNow and Microsoft integrating the Copilot technology. Day 2 provided real-world use cases about how that will work and what end users could do with it. One use case being that Copilot will provide a summary of what happened while you were out of the office and provide a list of action items accordingly.
Expanding Partnerships (04:00)
The outcomes of Microsoft and ServiceNow partnering demonstrate how partnerships are evolving. With these companies working together, it’s unlocking new possibilities tied around what customers can do, Bob describes. It’s not so much a vendor polishing up its ability to be sold more broadly; it’s about customers getting power that would’ve been inconceivable a few years ago.
While on location, the Acceleration Economy team has been meeting with partners that think similarly about collaboration between major companies. For instance, Tom spoke with the Global Vice Chair of Transformation for EY, Hank Prybylski. “He’s super bullish on the ServiceNow relationship, which he is the executive sponsor of, but also the opportunity to add AI into the transformation mix,” Tom says.

Optimism (09:38)
The premise of optimism has been a major theme at the conference. Customers have been reporting impressive results through the strength of ServiceNow technology. An executive from JP Morgan Chase, during a keynote, said that using ServiceNow helped them onboard 80,000 employees a year. It emphasized how beneficial this technology platform is to enable them to do that efficiently.
NVIDIA’s Jensen Huang referred to ServiceNow as “the operating system for our company.” That’s a rather compelling value proposition — especially with how fast NVIDIA has been growing.
AI for Business Transformation (12:05)
Bill McDermott has introduced the new tagline “the AI platform for business transformation.” It’s not digital transformation, it’s not technology transformation — it’s business transformation. With all these stories of extraordinary technology expressed in terms of customer value, opportunity, and transformation, it takes on a whole new dimension that’s more compelling, Bob says.
Hearing the testimonies from customers prompts the thought “How can I take that sort of thinking and mindset and accelerate what I’m doing?” Those in attendance of Knowledge24 get a firsthand look into terrific stories being presented.
