June’s live Cloud Wars Expo event featured dozens of industry leaders allowing the Acceleration Economy team access to the inner workings of the greatest growth market the world has ever known.
If you missed the Expo or just want to catch up on sessions you were not able to attend, then you’re in luck. We recorded more than 40 hours of education sessions from the event, which are available for free to Acceleration Economy subscribers. We’re also previewing the content in this series of Moments, which feature highlights from each session.
In this Cloud Wars Expo Moment, excerpted from the main stage fireside chat, Christopher Lochhead, Co-Creator of Category Pirates, discusses the ways in which 35-year-old-and-under digital natives are finding more opportunities for innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurialism with today’s technologies and customer needs than previous generations.
00:32 — According to Lochhead, this is the first time in history that technology has “become us.” He adds that human beings have never been as integrated into tech as we are now.
01:30 — Whether in reference to people or organizations, native digitals (also known as digital natives) are digital first. Lochhead says that companies that are native analogs, which got their start in an era before the Internet or the cloud existed, are 180 degrees off in their understanding of the business sphere.
02:06 — The majority of companies in the S&P 500 are producers of “analog stuff,” Lochhead adds.
02:29 — Lochhead described how many people moving forward want digital stuff, so S&P 500 companies may be faced with problems in the future.
02:55 — Native digitals now have more opportunities for innovation than anyone who has ever lived, says Lochhead.
03:36 — The current opportunities, creativity, and innovation available today for digital entrepreneurs are extraordinary, concludes Lochhead.
