If they want to monetize that knowledge digitally in a way that was never possible before, they can do so. “We are witnessing a breakthrough in new categories of digital intellectual capital,” he says.

01:12 — However, if he instead believes that his job is to continually create new intellectual capital and monetize it, then he can do that instead, either as an employee who provides value to his employer, team, stakeholders, and customers, or as an entrepreneur, monetizing it on his own.
01:35 — The people who will be the most successful in the future won’t just be those who acquire and apply knowledge through ongoing learning and education, although that is still very important. Instead, the most successful people in the future will be those who are constantly creating net new intellectual capital, says Chris.
