In this Cloud Wars Expo moment, taken from the Industry Cloud Battleground conversations on retail, Carrie Tharp, VP of Retail and Consumer, Google Cloud, discusses the platform’s Business Messages feature, which allows people to have branded interactions on a Places page.
00:26 — Tharp explains how Google Cloud’s Business Messages works in real time. A user could be looking up a property online and may want to have a service interaction on the Places page. Business Messages allow the user to communicate directly with retailers. Many companies within the retail industry have begun to pick this up over the last year.
00:46 — Business Messages is a way for retailers to “close the deal, get the booking and provide service that is actually your brand,” Tharp says. The capability allows for direct interaction between business owners and customers and allows brands to convey their standards and principles.
01:00 — Additionally, Business Messages creates a “fruitful data play.” Business owners now have direct insights into what people want to know about their organization. The feature creates its own form of data exhaust that may not be noticeable directly on the brand’s website.
